The cardboard box

It might seem like a small detail, but the packaging is one of the parts of Olive In A Box we've spent the most time on. A living tree and a bottle of oil need to travel through Europe's postal systems undamaged — while the box itself should still feel like a gift the moment it's opened.

Who makes it?

The box is manufactured by a family-owned Polish packaging producer, which has specialised in custom cardboard packaging for, among others, webshops since 2003. We chose this manufacturer because they combine a precise fit with a sustainable choice of materials.

Designed to protect

The box is custom-designed with built-in compartments and support, keeping the pot, the tree and the olive oil stable during transport — even when the parcel gets tilted or stacked along the way.

Sustainability

The manufacturer holds FSC® certification, meaning the wood and paper in the box come from responsibly managed forests. The packaging is 100% recyclable and can go straight into paper recycling once you're done with it.

A life after unboxing

Many people choose to reuse the box — as storage, as packaging for another gift, or simply as a discreet design element in the home, until it eventually ends up in the recycling bin.
