Alongside the living olive tree, the box contains a small bottle of extra virgin olive oil under the brand "Legado" — Spanish for "legacy". A fitting name for an oil produced with the same care, generation after generation.

Where does it come from?

Legado is produced by a third-generation family-run olive estate in the province of Málaga, Spain, where century-old olive trees stretch across the landscape. We chose this producer because they combine traditional craftsmanship with a clear pride in quality over quantity.

What does "extra virgin" mean?

"Extra virgin olive oil" is the highest quality category of olive oil. It means the oil is cold-pressed using only mechanical methods, without heat or chemicals, and has a low acidity along with a flawless taste approved by a professional tasting panel.

Flavour profile

Because the oil comes from an early harvest, it has a more intense, fruity and slightly peppery flavour than many average olive oils — along with a higher content of natural antioxidants. It's an oil equally suited to dipping bread in as to finishing a completed dish.

How to use it

Use it raw whenever possible — over salads, vegetables, white meat or fish — so the delicate flavour notes are preserved. Store the bottle somewhere dark and cool, and seal it tightly after use, so the oil stays fresh for as long as possible.
